Training

The SCRO committee has developed a regular training programme composed of casualty care courses and biannual rescue practices. Members attend the annual Shell / Boots across Scotland training seminars run by MRCofS and first aid courses at basic and advanced levels run by BASP.

Training sessions include the use of the following specialised rescue equipment

• Sked and Gemini stretchers with spinal splints
• Little Dragon (airway warmer and humidifier)
• Horizontal rope haulage equipment
• Heyphone (underground communications)
• Expanding stemple
